New Gamblers in Florida

Eight new property insurance companies this month have received state
regulators' approval to do business in Florida.

Olympus Insurance is a play out of the gamebook for St. Johns
Insurance, offering the same rates and seeking business through the same
agents and offices. But it brings $50 million in new capital to Florida.
President is William K. Lowry, a New Jersey-based former reinsurance
company executive.

Also joining the hurricane game

- American Keystone, targeted for homes in the $250,000 to $3 million
range. It based its initial rating structure on Sunshine State Insurance
and will be managed by King's Bay Insurance Services;

- Homeowners Choice Property & Casualty, which seeks up to 20,000
policies from the state;

- Privilege Underwriters, a reciprocal aimed at wealthy home and auto
owners.
