But he can't seem to help himself.
Property taxes, after all, are what the speaker says are to blame for
Florida's stagnating economy and listing sales tax collections.
To get ready for a second October special session, the speaker has
assembled a 20-page synopsis of 18 property tax cut plans, including a
new one dated last week that limits property taxes to 2 percent of the
value of a home, caps those taxes to 5 percent of the income of
low-income seniors, and raises state sales taxes by a penny to plug the
hole in local school district budgets.

Do you feel like you're paying rent to the government? When the last payment is made, you will find out that the government levies that were included in your mortgage must still be paid every year at ever increasing outrageous sums. Payment must be made and, just like rent, you will be evicted if you can't pay.
Originally there wasn't any property tax and only free men owned property. You actually owned yourself and your property rights made you free. You could actually sell yourself into slavery as an indentured servant. Under the vassal system, you pay homage to a feudal lord for being allowed to occupy land belonging to the lord and receiving his protection, another form of slavery.
I want to own and be free. I am tired of the property tax battle and I don't want to fight this battle for the rest of my life. There are many plans for a fair tax system that would assure future ownership and one would be able to actually own their property. Yes, it is true, property taxes can be replaced and you could really own your property.
This has to change. Sign my petitionsat "www.FloridaBallotInitiative.com" and we will have a choice in 2008 to replace property taxes, cap insurance rates, cut and cap taxes and ensure competition at the pump. Freedom isn't free; stupidity is very expensive.
